Activity Description
Pain following thoracotomy is a significant and common pain experienced by patients after surgery that poses multiple implications that severely impact quality of life. Pain management continues to represent a major societal issue so it is incumbent upon healthcare professionals throughout the world to adopt effective approaches to manage postoperative pain relief.
This activity examines important challenges in post-thoracotomy pain management and reviews fundamentals of pain pathways, and the role of Cryo nerve block in multimodal treatment of post thoracotomy pain. The expert faculty, through illustrative case reviews and discussions, assess optimal multimodal analgesia techniques in patients undergoing rib fracture repair, and video assisted thoracic surgical lobectomy.
