Target Audience

This activity has been developed to meet the educational needs of thoracic and cardiothoracic surgeons, and other physician groups and allied healthcare professionals with a clinical interest in patient pain management.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

• Review common types of pain, risk factors, and pain management challenges.
• Assess the role of Cryo Nerve Block Therapy for pain management in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Examine strategies for evaluating and managing postoperative complications.
• Discuss opioid requirements after Intercostal Cryoanalgesia in Thoracic Surgery.
• Review the implementation of enhanced recovery after surgery protocols for reducing potential complications after thoracic surgery and the length of hospital stay.
